He is proposing that the PBX operators go to a Bluetooth headset rather than the mechanical lifters they are using now as they have to be repaired or replaced frequently. This will involve getting a new phone and console at the PBX desk that is compatible for Bluetooth. The items at the Noxious Weed Dept. and Road Dept. will be a onetime purchase and will pay for itself over time as we will be able to eliminate some phone lines.

Les Green informed board members that he had included this item in his current budget.

Mendenhall commented that digital phones will need to be replaced with a Voice over IP phone eventually and that the VOIP phones are approximately $75 more a phone than the digital phones.

Les reported that he is looking at a 4 year replacement cycle to change over to the VOIP phones.
